Did you book a photo shoot with Iris van Meijl Fotografie? Then read the tips and info below carefully to get the most beautiful result possible!
The Location It is useful to think about one or more beautiful locations, because the more beautiful the location, the more beautiful the photos will be. Think of beautiful trees in the background, flowers, forests, a beautiful garden, heather, etc. For the blackseries, an entrance to a spacious dark stable is often a good location. So make sure you choose a location or space that is beautiful by itself.
Weather conditions Only when it rains a lot we can't take pictures, otherwise we can take pictures in all weather conditions. When rain is predicted, we look a few days or a day in advance to see if the photo shoot can or can't take place. When the photo shoot can't take place we agree on a new date.
Preparation Be well prepared for the photo shoot. Think carefully about your clothing in relation to the colour of the horse and the surroundings, saddle pad and bandages. This can result in a very nice combination on the photos. It is advisable not to combine more than two to a maximum of three colours. Too many different colours can look messy on the pictures. Calm colors such as white or blue often work very well. Are you hesitating between clothing combinations? You can change your outfit during the photo shoot. It is also possible to use a PS or Sweden set. You can find it here.
Make sure that the horse is well equipped for the photo shoot and that the saddle, bridle, bit, etc. are clean. For a finishing touch, it is recommended to clean the boots and leather with shoe polish and to use baby oil to give the horse's nose and eyes an extra shine. You can also put a wool glove on your horse to give it an extra shine.
Ps of Sweden set Only at Iris van Meijl Fotografie: It is possible to use a super cool set of PS or Sweden for your photo shoot. This way you can be sure that your photo will be super chic! All sets of PS or Sweden that you can rent can be found here.
Tools From September 2019 another intern will be taking part in the photo shoots. She will help to attract the attention of the horse. Before this time it is advisable to arrange an extra person for the shoots who can help distract the horse so that he can put his ears forward. We bring our own tools for this like an app with horse sounds, balloons, etc. We can easily assess whether or not this is necessary for a horse. If the horse is very alert by nature, for example, we will use little or nothing because the horse looks great by itself. If you don't want us to use certain tools, you can of course indicate this during the photo shoot. If you have certain effects or tools that you know work well for your horse, you can of course always bring them with you.
Bring your own It is advisable to bring an old towel with you during the photo shoot to clean up any dirt. In addition, in the summer it is recommended to put on and take away flyspray. Also make sure you have a stallion chain with you. This is easier to remove during post-processing when the horse is only in the picture. When you take a picture with your horse, it is better to make the reins at of it again.
Payment After the photo shoot you can pay in cash, by debit card or by invoice. Preference is given to debit cards.
After the photo shoot After a photo shoot you will receive a large selection of digital raw photos with watermark. From these watermark photos you can, depending on your chosen package, choose a number of photos. If you find it difficult to choose, you can also choose more photos than there are in your package. Click here to see the rates for ordering photos after they have been ordered.
